how to make Ghayme stew (Khoresht - e Gheyme)

Ingredient: (6 serving)
  • Stewing lamb or beef: 750 grams
  • Split-peas: 250 grams
  • Onion: 3-4
  • Potato: 500 grams
  • Oil: ½ cup
  • Dried limes: 3-4 crushed (fresh lime juice can be used instead)
  • Tomato past: 2-3 spoons
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Turmeric
Direction: (this stew is a delicious Iranian food)
First soak the split-peas in the water for 1 hour. Next, Cut onions in small pieces and fry in the oil, add turmeric, after onions golden add beef or lamb (before cut in small pieces). After meat fry, pour water and let boiling very slowly for 1 hour. Add spit-peas and crushed limes and let continue boiling for 1 more hour.Cut potatoes in thinly pieces and fry.
Add tomato past and salt and pepper, after a half of an hour stew is ready, add fried potato and enjoy it. This delicious stew can served with white rice.
