iranian food - Celery stew (Khoresht Karafs)

Ingredients: (6 servings)
  • Lamb or beef: 500 grams
  • Celery: 1 kg
  • Onions: 2 big
  • Lime juice: 3 spoons
  • Fresh mint: 500 grams
  • Oil: ½ cup
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Turmeric
Directions:
Cut onions in small pieces and fry in the oil, add turmeric, cut meat in small pieces and add to onions after meat brown pour 3 glasses of water, let boil slowly for 1 hour.
Cut mint and fry in the oil and cut celery in small pieces and add to mint.
Ad mixed mint and celery to stew. After 20 min add salt, pepper and lime juice, let boil for 5-10 min. celery should not cook more.
Amount of lime juice is optional and you can make adjustment as desire.
This delicious stew serve with white rice.
